The original English production of "The Phantom of the Opera", one of the most iconic and beloved musicals in history, will make its highly anticipated return to the Guangzhou Opera House from January 20 to February 8, 2026.

Following a sold-out run in 2025 that captivated audiences citywide, this production brings back Andrew Lloyd Webber's timeless masterpiece in all its original glory — directed by the legendary Harold Prince, choreographed by Gillian Lynne, and featuring Maria Björnson's stunning costumes and set design.

Pemiered in London's West End in 1986, "The Phantom of the Opera" has since toured 205 cities across 58 countries, attracting over 160 million viewers and winning more than 70 major theater awards, including seven Tony Awards and three Olivier Awards. It continues to be hailed as a must-see, with The Times calling it "a gift from the gods of musical theatre."

Audiences will once again be transported to the opulent Paris Opera House of the late 19th century, with unforgettable songs like "The Music of the Night" and "All I Ask of You" echoing through the grand auditorium. The production will be performed in English with Chinese surtitles.

Returning to the stage is fan-favorite Grace Roberts as Christine Daaé, reprising her acclaimed role from the 2025 Guangzhou production.
