This spectacular production will be presented at the Guangzhou Opera House this week, inviting you to immerse yourself in the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty and the romantic allure of Eastern aesthetics.

The story is set in Chang'an, the Tang Dynasty's capital city, during the Lantern Festival (the 15th day of the first month of the lunar calendar). The citizens prepare for the festival, unaware that the dazzling celebrations will soon give way to an all-consuming catastrophe. With kidnappings, political schemes, and a city engulfed in flames, the gears of destruction have already begun to turn. The only hope to save Chang'an lies in the hands of a condemned prisoner—and the 12 fleeting hours before his execution…

This original Chinese musical tells a story rooted in local emotions, with a tragic throughline focused on the themes of faith and love. The stage design incorporates symbolic elements like chessboards, sand tables, and traditional architecture to evoke the essence of ancient Chinese philosophy.
