China's major economic powerhouse Guangdong held its annual top-level blueprint meeting—the Provincial High-quality Development Conference—on Feb. 24 in the capital city Guangzhou, with integration between manufacturing and intelligent services at the heart of its agenda.

The new goal, set right on the first work day after the Chinese New Year holiday, marks a major shift for Guangdong from selling products to the world to delivering "products + supporting services".

Against the backdrop, AI-powered services will be embedded into the global production lines of Guangdong enterprises, helping them produce higher-quality products at higher efficiency for the world. Guangdong products' added value will also improve by offering extended services such as full-life cycle management, customized solutions, and after-sales support for their global customers.

The world may be witnessing a whole new definition of what Guangdong products stand for.
