The Liuxi Hot Spring Tourism Resort Zone, an international neighborhood located in Conghua District, Guangzhou, covers an area of approximately 12 km², stretching from the Eco-design Town in the north to the Liuxi Hot Spring Plaza in the south.
The resort zone began construction in 2004 and is the closest hot spring resort to the downtown area of Guangzhou. It has developed into a comprehensive, high-quality tourism and vacation destination, integrating leisure resorts, conferences and exhibitions, hot spring wellness, and the horse racing industry.
The resort zone currently boasts world-class ecological, tourism, and cultural resources, including rare hot springs, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Conghua Racecourse, the Imperial Springs International Convention Center, the World Eco-Design Conference, and the Guangzhou branch of the China National Archives of Publications and Culture.
The rare alkaline sodium bicarbonate hot springs, rich in radon, have earned the title of "China's No.1 Radon Soda Hot Spring" from the China World Record Association. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Conghua Racecourse serves as a world-class international horse training base and service center. The Imperial Springs International Convention Center has successfully hosted multiple international summits. The World Eco-Design Conference, held in the Eco-Design Town, has been granted "Special Consultative Status" with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. Wenqin Pavilion, the Guangzhou branch of the China National Archives of Publications and Culture, is dedicated to the collection, display, research, and exchange of Chinese editions.
In the future, the resort zone will focus on developing a comprehensive tourist destination based on leisure resorts, emphasizing international conferences, a core focus on hot spring wellness, and a distinctive horse racing industry. It will enhance regional transportation, bilingual signage systems, and marketing and promotion efforts to create a high-end international business platform. The aim is to enrich its international cultural industry and improve public services, thereby establishing a conference-driven, eco-friendly pilot international neighborhood.
