The Canton Tower community in Chigang Subdistrict has been selected to serve as a pilot international neighborhood representing Guangzhou's Haizhu District. By leveraging the prominence of this landmark, the initiative aims to create a globally oriented urban space that enhances Guangzhou's international image and outreach.

As the tallest tower in China, the Canton Tower is a landmark project in Guangzhou. Its main body reaches 454 meters, and with the addition of its 146-meter antenna mast, the total height is 600 meters. In recent years, efforts have been made to transform the Canton Tower scenic area into a world-class waterfront urban space. The opening of the Haixin Bridge—the first pedestrian landscape bridge across the Pearl River—has further enhanced the community's appeal as a new urban landmark.

The pilot area is defined as starting from Yuhan Road beneath the Guangzhou Bridge to the west and extending eastward to Huangpuchong along Guangzhou Avenue South, Yijing Road, Yiyuan Road, and Shuangta Road, with the Pearl River to the north. The area covers about 1.2 square kilometers and has a riverbank length of approximately 4 kilometers.

In the future, the Canton Tower area will enhance its service system and capabilities, optimize the foreign language signage system in public spaces, and improve the recognition of the international community.

The Canton Tower scenic area will enhance multilingual broadcasting and establish an international volunteer service team within the district to provide more considerate and high-quality services for both domestic and international visitors.

By utilizing platforms such as the Canton Tower, the Haixin Bridge, the New Era Convenience Service Center, and the Red House Party-building Base, cultural activities such as calligraphy competitions and multilingual poetry recitations will be organized to promote multicultural integration within the international community.
