Autonomous shuttle bus route to be added during 140th Canton Fair

South | Updated: 2026-10-14

The 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) will open on October 15. Guangzhou's transport authorities will provide various public transportation options during the fair, including setting up an autonomous shuttle bus route.

A customized bus route will operate between the Canton Fair Complex and Liuhua Road during the fair. The service will run from 15:00 to 19:00 on the first four days of each phase and from 13:00 to 17:00 on the fifth day.

Passengers can board the customized buses on Zhanchang Zhong Road. The route will pass along major urban roads, including Xingang Road, Liede Bridge, Liede Dadao, Tianhe Dong Road, Zhongshan Dadao, Tianhe Road, Huanshi Road, Jiefang Bei Road and Liuhua Road. It will serve several stops near hotels to facilitate travel for exhibitors and other participants.

Regular bus routes serving the Canton Fair Complex, including Bus Nos. 137, 229, 239, 262, 304, 461, 461 (special service), 582, 762, B7, B7 Express, Higher Education Mega Center Bus No. 3, and Sightseeing Tour Bus No. 3, will operate more frequently. Additional buses will be deployed as needed.

In addition, an autonomous shuttle bus demonstration route will operate during the Canton Fair, providing a circular service connecting the Shangri-La Hotel, Pazhou Metro Station Exit E, Canton Fair Complex Bus Stop, Modiesha Bus Stop, and Pazhou Bus Stop before returning to the Shangri-La Hotel. The service will run daily from 11:00 to 16:00, with buses departing every 15 minutes.

Visitors to the Canton Fair Complex can take Metro Line 8 or Line 11 to nearby stations. Please note that transfers between Lines 8 and 11 at Pazhou Station currently require passengers to move outside the original paid-area boundary for interchange. Exit A of Line 8 and Exit F of Line 11 are connected by a covered walkway at ground level. Passengers transferring between the two lines should follow on-site signs and use the designated blue transfer gates.

International visitors wishing to purchase single-journey metro tickets can use international payment cards, including Mastercard, American Express, Visa and JCB, to tap directly at the ticket gates, making metro travel more convenient and accessible.

The metro system will also offer themed one-day and three-day passes, along with a special five-day pass commemorating the 140th Canton Fair. The one-day and three-day passes will be available for purchase from self-service ticket machines at Guangzhou South Railway Station, Pazhou Station, Xingangdong Station and Airport North Station. The limited-edition five-day pass will be sold exclusively at the Canton Fair Complex.
