Dragon boat races were held over the weekend across the districts of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, as traditional celebrations for the upcoming Duanwu Festival.
Over 50 teams from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area competed in a section of the Jiaomen River in Nansha district on Sunday. A fierce college competition was also held in the district, with teams from 15 universities participating.
More than 800 athletes from 18 men's and women's teams competed in Baiyun district on Saturday.
A city-wide international dragon boat invitational is scheduled for Duanwu Festival in a section of the Pearl River between the north gate square of Sun Yat-sen University and Guangzhou Bridge.
