On April 28, Guangzhou Huaxia Vocational College officially opened its 34,000-square-meter Smart Library after a seven-month trial. The seven-floor facility, which houses over 1.3 million books, serves as a hub for talent development, research, and cultural innovation.
The library features dedicated zones for engineering, medical sciences, and humanities, as well as a makerspace, smart study areas, and an educator development center. Innovative technologies such as smart bookshelves, virtual navigation, and interactive screens enhance the user experience, supported by lecture halls, seminar rooms, and a Mandarin testing station.
President Zou Jianhua highlighted the library's significance in the school's infrastructure upgrades, which also include projects like an arts center and student complex. "This marks a leap in building a multidisciplinary academic platform," he stated, committing to the integration of education, research, and culture.
During its trial phase, the library welcomed 114,000 visitors and hosted 24 cultural events, establishing itself as a campus landmark. It aims to promote growth through technology-enabled learning and collaborative spaces.
