With spring rain comes new life in the bamboo forests of Conghua District, Guangzhou, where bamboo shoots emerge, carrying the earth's fragrance.

The people of Conghua have a deep affection for bamboo shoots. From late February to May each year, the spring bamboo shoot season begins. After a rainfall, locals don gloves, grab baskets, and head to the mountains to harvest these fresh delicacies.

In Lütian Town, Conghua District, spring bamboo shoots cover 13,350 mu (approximately 890 hectares), yielding over 4,000 tons annually. The primary variety is bitter bamboo shoots, cultivated across all 21 villages in the township.

Each tender bamboo shoot is packed with health-boosting nutrients. Once harvested, they can be transformed into a variety of delicious dishes. Come savor this seasonal freshness!
