VIPSHOP, a leading Chinese online discount retailer, confirms establishing a global exhibition and sales center at Canton Market. Vice President Zhang Liang said the center will serve as a "global launchpad" for Chinese brands, giving buyers access to domestic brand debuts while also creating an import discount zone bringing foreign goods to China.

Chen Anzhi, executive secretary-general of Guangdong Chamber of Commerce of Importers & Exporters (GDCCIE), said the chamber will organize foreign trade enterprises to set up sample showrooms, bring overseas buyers together for in-person business matchmaking, and use Canton Fair side events to make the complex a year-round international exhibition platform.

Zhang Yingmin, chairman of Hong Kong's Cameron Sino Technology, said the complex's strategic location allows the company to establish a consumer electronics trade headquarters for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

Its proximity to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, with connections to Hong Kong International Airport and Yantian Port in Shenzhen, enables efficient sea-air-land transport for consumer electronics, he said. Bonded-zone policies available nearby, including bonded consolidation, remote inspection and export tax rebates, facilitate compliance for consumer electronics businesses.

A Gateway for Global Brands into Chinese Market

Canton Market also serves as a gateway for foreign enterprises to integrate into China's industrial chain and enter its market.

He Zhenwei, president of the China Overseas Development Association, said the association will support the establishment of a comprehensive service base in the complex and introduce major e-commerce platforms and retail chains to help foreign businesses enter China through the South China gateway.

Fabian Blake, vice president of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and chair of the South China Chapter, said European enterprises will play an active role in Canton Market's long-term operations, making it a new entry point for European businesses in Guangzhou. The chamber's member enterprises will provide services in the complex to support companies expanding into the EU, including testing and certification, logistics, energy, legal services, data compliance and intellectual property.

Peter Burnett, chief executive of the China-Britain Business Council, said Canton Market is a key project for British companies. The council is planning an international supply chain conference in the GBA in line with Canton Market's positioning.
