Under the theme "Leveraging New Advantages to Align with the 15th Five-Year Plan," the joint interview delegation has been visiting Guangzhou, Dongguan and Zhuhai from August 23 to 28. Comprising nearly 50 journalists and online influencers from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, the delegation has visited sci-tech enterprises, youth entrepreneurship centers and other institutions to explore how the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area can build on collaboration in technological innovation, leverage the international strengths of Hong Kong and Macao and align more closely with the 15th Five-Year Plan.

The delegation made Guangzhou its first stop. On August 24, it visited Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited (GPHL), PCI Technology Group Co., Ltd. (PCITECH), EHang Intelligent Equipment (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. and the Guangzhou Tianhe Hong Kong and Macao Youth Entrepreneurship Service Center.

On the industrial collaboration front, GPHL is accelerating cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao. Chen Jiehui, general manager of GPHL, said the company has partnered with several universities—including The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University and Macau University of Science and Technology—to establish joint laboratories and research institutes. These partnerships enable GPHL and the universities to share scientific and technological resources for R&D and jointly incubate pharmaceutical innovations.

Wang Yuemiao, executive dean of PCITECH's Central Research Institute, said the company, an AI technology product and service provider, established an R&D center in Hong Kong this year. The center will enable PCITECH to align with international technical standards, develop products for overseas markets, connect with partners and resources and support market expansion. The team is gradually being put in place and is actively advancing local business engagement in Hong Kong while laying the groundwork for further overseas expansion.

Hong Kong is also moving to develop its low-altitude economy. In recent years, the HKSAR Government has launched pilot projects under its Low-altitude Economy "Regulatory Sandbox X" initiative, providing policy support for aircraft testing and operation. Against this backdrop, a number of companies from the Chinese mainland are stepping up cross-boundary cooperation with Hong Kong. During the visit to EHang, Vice President Xue Peng briefed the delegation on the latest developments in EHang's cooperation with Hong Kong. He said EHang has signed a memorandum of understanding with KC Smart Mobility Company Limited and Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited to jointly advance the research, development and application of pilotless electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in Hong Kong. The three-party low-altitude cooperation project has been selected as one of the "Regulatory Sandbox X" pilot projects.

The delegation also visited the Guangzhou Tianhe Hong Kong and Macao Youth Entrepreneurship Service Center to learn about its achievements in supporting entrepreneurship among young people from Hong Kong and Macao. Established in 2017, it was the first organization in Guangdong to be designated a "Hong Kong and Macao Youth Home."

The center specializes in providing one-stop startup incubation and acceleration services for Hong Kong and Macao youth, such as policy guidance, business registration, talent housing and resource matching. Huang Yuanfeng, secretary-general of the center, said it has brought together more than 30 venture capital institutions to form the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Venture Capital Alliance for youth entrepreneurship, which has made cumulative investments of nearly 120 million yuan. The center has incubated more than 600 start-ups founded by young people from Hong Kong and Macao, 16 of which are valued at more than 100 million yuan.
