Eleven projects were signed with China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) at the 16th Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration Council meeting in Singapore on Wednesday, representing half of the 22 projects released at the meeting, according to a statement released by Guangzhou's Huangpu district.

Partners include United Overseas Bank (UOB), the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore, and the National University of Singapore, with agreements covering international healthcare, elderly care, biomedicine, fintech, and intellectual property.

In biomedicine, Royal Lee Cancer Center secured a strategic cooperation oncology platform, Tamarind Health, to establish the first China-Singapore remote oncology multi-disciplinary consultation center and open two-way cross-border patient referral pathways linking Singapore and ASEAN. Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University has partnered with Singapore's Biosyngen to build a cell-therapy ecosystem covering clinical translation, research and development, talent training, and international medical services.

Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings has launched a joint research and development agreement with Singapore-based Lion TCR Biotech in mRNA-encoded TCR-T cell therapy, targeting clinical translation of innovative immunotherapies.

On the financial services side, the CSGKC administrative committee expanded cooperation with UOB, whose regional banking network will provide Guangdong companies seeking Southeast Asian market entry with cross-border settlement, account opening, and investment and financing services.

Located in Guangzhou's Huangpu district, CSGKC was established in 2010 and spans a planned area of 232 square kilometers. It houses more than 40 biopharmaceutical projects and seven hospitals and specialist healthcare facilities, and has attracted 165 Singapore-invested enterprises with cumulative investment reaching nearly 20 billion yuan (about $3 billion). Guangdong and Singapore have signed 99 memoranda of understanding for the project to date.
