Kazakhstan's Air Astana will increase its Guangzhou–Astana service from two to three weekly flights starting August 23 and its Guangzhou–Almaty route from five to seven weekly flights starting August 28. The changes will bring Air Astana's services between Guangzhou and Kazakhstan to 10 flights a week.

Astana, Kazakhstan's capital, and Almaty, the country's largest city and key financial and commercial center, serve as Air Astana's two main hubs. They offer onward connections to destinations across Central Asia, Europe and Asia, including Tashkent, Bishkek, Tbilisi, Istanbul, Frankfurt and London. These expanded services out of Guangzhou will further strengthen the city's links with Kazakhstan and the wider region.

Meanwhile, Garuda Indonesia, a SkyTeam member airline, will increase its Guangzhou–Jakarta service from four weekly flights to daily flights starting September 8. The service is operated by Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with Flight GA899 (Guangzhou to Jakarta): departing at 3:45 pm and arriving at 8:10 pm; and Flight GA898 (Jakarta to Guangzhou): departing at 8:15 am and arriving at 2:45 pm. The expanded schedule will improve direct air connectivity between Guangzhou and Jakarta amid growing travel and business exchanges between the two cities.
