The 13th International e-Mobility Expo was held in the Republic of Korea from March 24 to 27, co-organized by the International Electric Vehicle Expo and the Global Electric-Automotive Network (GEAN). At the opening ceremony, Guangzhou's Nansha District was presented with the 2026 GEAN Award, becoming the first city to receive the honor since the award was opened to international urban nominations.
This recognition marks Nansha's international acknowledgment of its achievements in green mobility and sustainable development.

The GEAN Award, presented annually by the Global Electric-Automotive Network, is one of the most authoritative and influential accolades in the field of green transportation worldwide. It recognizes entities that have made outstanding contributions to low-carbon smart cities and the electric mobility industry. Nansha District was the only Chinese governmental institution to receive the award. This latest honor follows Nansha's selection in September 2025 as a "City With Nature" by the global Cities With Nature platform, adding to its growing list of internationally recognized achievements in sustainable development.

Representatives from the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Guangzhou Nansha Economic and Technological Development Zone and the Nansha District Bureau of Industry and Information Technology attended the award ceremony by invitation. Following the ceremony, they delivered a featured presentation at the World e-Mobility Summit, where they detailed Nansha's progress in green mobility, renewable energy, charging infrastructure, and the development of comprehensive unmanned systems. The delegation also facilitated the participation of local companies such as Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd. and AFAI Southern Shipyard Co., Ltd., showcasing Nansha's innovative practices in sustainable green mobility to the global industry.
