Meng noted that Guangdong Province's GDP ranks 1st in China for 37 consecutive years. Furthermore, Guangdong's foreign trade volume contributed 24.1% of the country's trade increase, while actual utilization of foreign capital increased by 11.3%

In 2025, the total operating mileage of high-speed rail reached 3,411 kilometers, ranking first in the country.

He also stated that the province's main target for economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030) is an average annual GDP growth of around 5%. As the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, the main expected target for economic and social development in 2026 is a GDP growth of 4.5% to 5%.
