The 2025 list of Guangdong Province's characteristic shopping towns was recently released, featuring a total of 34 towns (subdistricts) across the province. These towns provide consumers and tourists with rich, high-quality, and specialized shopping experiences.

The first and second batches of characteristic shopping towns have been carefully selected for their distinctive integration of culture, tourism, commerce, cuisine, and other features.

Among them, Guangzhou's Cosmetics Town in Kuangquan Subdistrict boasts 57 professional markets, offering visitors a vast selection. The town has hosted 50 cosmetics festivals and has partnered with Alibaba to establish the country's first cosmetics product selection center, set up international cosmetics sourcing, and continuously hosted 173 domestic beauty expos and 2 Southeast Asian beauty expos.

Ye Xinping from the Kuangquan Subdistrict Working Committee stated that Meizhuang Town fully expands product varieties and industrial support around the theme of "beauty," with one-stop tourism amenities making trips more convenient.

"Here, our residents and businesses can find everything they need," said Ye Xinping, explaining that the categories include cosmetics, shoes, bags, and luggage. Visitors can enjoy morning tea at dawn, visit the cosmetics city in the morning, have dim sum and snacks for lunch, and then spend the afternoon at Zhanxi Plaza.

Shenzhen's Zhongying Street Town leverages its geographical and cultural advantages to connect with Hong Kong. It is the only area in the country connected to Hong Kong by both land and water, featuring the unique "one street, two systems" model. It is a renowned Chinese historical and cultural street and a hub for Chinese folk art. Strolling along the Lingnan arcades, visitors can find an array of goods, including international cosmetics, health supplements, fashion items, and cross-border e-commerce products.

Chen Suni, Director of the Shenzhen Yantian District Zhongying Street Administration, stated that the main attraction of Zhongying Street Town is its duty-free goods. Relying on Hong Kong's natural trade gateway, Zhongying Street gathers duty-free commodities. Chen Suni also noted that the town hosts folk activities from both sides, with an estimated 6 million people visiting for cultural and tourism experiences in 2025.

Dongguan's Liaobu Automotive Town, as a key manufacturing hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), achieved automotive sales exceeding 18 billion yuan in 2025. Liaobu has established a closed-loop automotive industry chain covering production, sales, and maintenance, with thousands of automotive companies collaborating to build a full-chain ecosystem for the industry.

Zeng Dufeng, Deputy Mayor of Dongguan Liaobu Town, stated that the Liaobu International Auto City underwent an 80 million yuan upgrade. New energy brands like Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance and Li Auto have successively established operations there, with automotive sales reaching 20 billion yuan, attracting hundreds of thousands of automotive tourists annually.
