On the afternoon of August 29, a hip-hop competition was held at the Haoyi Tianhe Comprehensive Service Center in Liede International Neighborhood, an international community in South China's Guangzhou, instantly igniting the entire neighborhood.

In 2022, the city launched 12 pilot international neighborhoods, including Liede Subdistrict, aiming to explore how these neighborhoods can drive the city's internationalization and help establish Guangzhou as a hub for international exchanges.

More than 60 contestants from various countries gathered here. A variety of dance styles were featured, including Mechanical Dance, Breakdance, Hip-hop, and Lock Dance. Contestants needed to improvise within a limited time, winning over the judges and audience with their dance moves, rhythms, and creativity. After multiple exciting rounds, the champion, runner-up, and two semi-finalists were finally determined.

Ukrainian contestant Lila noted that a shared passion for dance enables cross-country communication. Even without a common language, people can interact with other dancers through body movements—all emotions can be expressed through dance.

As a new initiative to explore fresh forms of national fitness, the competition has created a strong atmosphere for the upcoming 15th National Games and Paralympic Games. In the future, Tianhe District will deepen the “sports + culture + international exchange” activity model, allowing more citizens to embrace health through sports, gain friendships through cultural interactions, and feel the beauty and power of life in passion and rhythm.
