On August 15, Unilever's Guangzhou food factory and logistics park officially commenced operations in Conghua District, marking a significant milestone in the company's efforts to advance smart manufacturing and supply chain integration in China. As Unilever's first comprehensive food production base in the country, the facility is positioned to become a major growth driver for its condiment business in China.

The factory features extensive automation and intelligent systems, greatly enhancing operational efficiency and market responsiveness. It employs a highly integrated smart management system that covers demand tracking, production execution, warehouse management, quality control, and operational optimization—all synchronized in real time with cloud and ERP systems. Additionally, the plant has implemented a full end-to-end traceability system to ensure product safety and accountability.

Benefiting from Guangzhou's strengths in regional connectivity and logistics, the factory is accelerating the clustering of upstream and downstream enterprises—from raw materials and packaging to technology and distribution—forming a localized supply chain ecosystem. Through collaboration with suppliers and distributors, it has optimized processes from production to delivery.

Alongside the factory, Unilever's new food logistics warehouse in Guangzhou supports direct distribution from production to customers. Equipped with automated guided vehicles (AGV), four-way shuttles, automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), and other advanced technologies, the warehouse has increased storage density by about 70% and processing capacity by 60%. It not only serves South China but also functions as a national hub for certain product categories, working in tandem with an export supervision warehouse established last year. Together, they form an integrated logistics network radiating across China and beyond.
