On August 7, as rainfall subsided, 10 of the 16 closed expressways in Guangdong had reopened, while full train service had resumed across all rail lines.

Between 00:00 on August 3 and 16:00 on August 6, Guangdong's expressway network recorded 16 closures due to heavy rainfall. Ten sections have reopened, while three mainline sections, two toll stations, and one service area still have traffic restrictions.

At 1:50 am on August 7, sediment invaded the Qingyuan-Yunfu Expressway for the second time. Gravel and soil stockpiled by a company outside the road's restricted area cascaded onto the expressway, covering all lanes in both directions. No vehicles or injuries were reported. The highway had been closed earlier due to a mudslide, and traffic controls remained in effect in this section for safety.

Cleanup work on the Guangzhou-Foshan-Zhaoqing Expressway sections closed by mudslides is essentially complete. At 18:10 on August 7, traffic on this section resumed in the direction toward Guangzhou, but the section toward Guangxi remained closed.

On the railway side, China Railway Guangzhou Group has fully restored normal operations across all rain-affected lines as of August 7. During this emergency response, 20 additional high-speed dedicated trains were arranged, successfully relocating 32,715 stranded passengers. As rainfall weakened, Guangdong downgraded its flood-control emergency response from Level II to Level IV effective 10:00 on August 7.
