A group of 25 inquisitive minds from Padova, Italy, dived into vibrant Guangzhou! For most, it was their first-ever trip to China. From towering skyscrapers and speedy subways to mouthwatering cuisine, everything had them exclaiming "Amazing!" But these "young ambassadors" came with a mission—to bring authentic, dynamic stories of China back home to Italy!

These students from the Confucius Institute in Padova have different reasons for falling in love with Chinese, some because of Chinese TV dramas, others because they enjoy exploring the meaning of Chinese characters. At the Confucius Institute, what did they learn?

Ancient Village, Explore!

Stepped into the history-rich Chi Song Gong and Daling Village, feeling the profound cultural charm! At Chi Song Gong, the ancient architecture hushed the group into quiet reflection. In Daling Village—Guangzhou's first nationally recognized historic village—time seemed to slow as they tread polished bluestone paths. Strolling along the oyster-shell walls of the village, the Italian youth immersed themselves in Lingnan's heritage.

GAC Technology Museum, Awesome!

Wow! The style has changed! Sleek new energy vehicles and smart-driving tech instantly grabbed everyone's attention in GAC exhibition hall. Phone cameras clicked nonstop—click! click!—as they circled the exhibits, faces lit with curiosity and awe. Cutting-edge automotive innovations gave them a real taste of the speed and brilliance of "Made-in-China" intelligence—a truly tech-packed experience!

City Friendship: Stronger Than Ever!

This trip was made possible by the Confucius Institute at the University of Padova—a "fruit" of the bond between Guangzhou University and the University of Padova. Since Guangzhou and Padova became friendship cities in 2017, cooperation in innovation, education, and cultural preservation has deepened! As an ancient Maritime Silk Road hub, Guangzhou shares a special bond with Italy. It's now partnered with five Italian cities—Bari, Milan, Genoa, Padova, and Turin—all working to strengthen China-Italy ties!
