China Southern Airlines is gearing up for the May Day travel rush with plans to operate nearly 23,000 flights between April 29 and May 6, averaging around 2,860 flights per day. The carrier will offer approximately 4.45 million seats, marking a notable increase from the same period last year.

To meet rising domestic demand, China Southern Airlines is boosting capacity on key routes from major hubs such as Guangzhou, Beijing Daxing, Shenzhen, and Shanghai to popular destinations including Chengdu, Kunming, Hangzhou, and Xi'an. Over 500 additional flights have been scheduled across more than 40 routes, with wide-body aircraft like the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 deployed on trunk lines. China-made jets, including the C919, will also operate on high-traffic routes.

Internationally, the airline is increasing services to Southeast Asia, Japan, and South Korea, with Bangkok seeing up to 10 daily flights from Guangzhou. The airline has also added new European destinations such as Budapest and Belgrade, and reports rising interest in Caucasus region travel, including Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.

The airline is also enhancing ground services, offering team check-in counters, additional self-service options, and flexible assistance for passengers with special needs. Travelers are advised to plan ahead and monitor weather and flight updates via the airline's digital platforms.
