New quality inspection bodies set up in Guangzhou to boost modern industrial progress

GDToday | Updated:2025-04-28

Recently, the Guangzhou Quality Testing and Inspection Research Institute, which includes the Guangzhou Medical Device Testing Center and the Guangzhou Fiber Quality Monitoring Center, was officially unveiled and began its services.

At the same time, the Guangzhou Medical Device Testing Center issued its first medical device registration inspection report to Guangzhou Trauer Biotechnology Co., Ltd.

The newly established Guangzhou Medical Device Testing Center is dedicated to significantly expediting the inspection cycle. Using the industry-standard cycle as a benchmark, it has pledged to reduce inspection time by 50%, thereby facilitating the market launch of enterprise products more efficiently.

The center has created three major testing sectors: active medical devices, inactive medical devices, and a biological evaluation center.

"We will focus on overcoming technological bottlenecks in the inspection of high-end medical equipment, medical robots, and other areas. In the next three years, we plan to establish specialized laboratories for medical robots, AI-powered medical devices, and medical software, striving to build the first full-lifecycle medical device inspection platform in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area," stated a representative from the Guangzhou Quality Testing and Inspection Research Institute.

On the same occasion, the Guangzhou Institute of Measurement and Testing Technology was officially announced, marking a significant advancement in enhancing Guangzhou's quality infrastructure. This institute will focus on areas such as quantum sensing and chip metrology, aiming to provide metrological support for industries including intelligent connected vehicles and next-generation information technology.

Additionally, the institute will enhance the capabilities of its unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) metrological traceability testing service platform to support the low-altitude economy. It will also develop metrological capabilities for supercharging stations to aid the high-quality development of the new energy storage and charging industry.

Technicians from the Guangzhou Institute of Metrology report that the institute has supported 17 UAV-related enterprises in overcoming technical challenges during the R&D and manufacturing stages. It has addressed critical pain points in metrological testing and performance evaluation, empowering UAVs to excel across various sectors.

The institute is also systematically advancing the research and development of key components and systems for highly adaptable, intelligent, digital X-ray 3D online inspection.
