Guangdong Province experienced significant weather contrasts this week, with heavy rainfall in the northern areas and rising temperatures elsewhere, leading to oppressive humidity ahead of an incoming cold front.

In terms of temperature, the maximum temperatures in Qingyuan, Shaoguan, Heyuan, Meizhou, and some areas in eastern Guangdong dropped by 1°C to 5°C compared to the 19th, while most other areas generally rose by 1°C to 4°C or remained unchanged. Notably, Zhaoqing Fengkai recorded the highest temperature in the province at 34.6°C.
At the same time, high humidity across most cities and counties in the province makes the combination of heat and moisture feel sultry and even stifling, truly unbearable.

On April 21, mostly cloudy to sunny skies are expected across Guangdong. The temperature will remain high today, so don't forget sunscreen and light clothing.
However, this is your last chance to dry laundry! A weak cold front will sweep into the province on April 22-23, bringing moderate to heavy rain (with localized downpours) to northern and central regions. Thunderstorms may produce gusts of 8-9 on the Beaufort scale, along with sudden heavy rain and hail. Residents in these areas should stay alert and prepare for rough weather!
