On April 20, nearly a thousand cyclists set off from the GBA Agricultural Innovation Hub in Conghua District, Guangzhou, for a 13.14-kilometre eco-ride.
The event integrated intangible cultural heritage, such as lion dance, with smart agriculture and the scenic landscapes of Lingnan ancient villages, creating a multifaceted experience that encompassed agriculture, culture, tourism, sports, and commerce.
The route wound through Conghua's 10,000-mu (approximately 667 hectares) ecological farmland, starting and ending at the Bay Area Agricultural Innovation Hub (湾区农芯汇). It passed scenic spots including Shitan Waterside (石滩水岸), Xitan Shade (溪滩绿荫), Wushi Bridge (乌石大桥), and Pajiang River Wetland (潖江河亲水湿地), offering opportunities for ecological sightseeing, cultural experiences, and agricultural education.
Supported by Hellobike, diverse groups—including parent-child families, college students, and enterprise employees—cycled in organized batches.
"Riding here feels like traveling through a landscape painting. It's both great exercise and an immersive way to learn about Conghua's ecology and culture," said participant Ms. Wang.
Additionally, organizers set up rest stops and product booths along the route featuring local specialties, such as Liuxi Selected brand products and dairy items.
