The Lao Culture, Tourism and Art Exchange Center was officially inaugurated at the Nansha Bird Park on Tuesday. Jointly unveiled by representatives from both countries, the center is designed to serve as a comprehensive platform for cultural exhibitions, business exchanges, and agricultural collaboration.

Since the signing of a cooperation memorandum between Guangzhou's  Nansha District and Laos's Sanamxay District in January 2023, collaboration between the two sides has expanded from county-level ties to provincial-city partnerships. Building on this progress, Guangzhou further solidified its ties with Laos by establishing a friendship city relationship with Attapeu Province on December 8, 2023.

The newly opened center is expected to enhance cultural and economic exchanges, providing a dynamic venue for joint initiatives in trade, tourism, and sustainable agriculture. Officials from both sides expressed optimism that the platform will deepen mutual understanding and open new avenues for cooperation in tourism promotion, investment promotion and other fields ahead of the landmark 65th anniversary of the establishment of China-Laos diplomatic ties next year.
