A group of nearly 10 young cadres from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs recently arrived in Guangzhou, embarking on an immersive study tour. At the former site of the Vietnamese Youth Political Training Class and Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League, they touched the mottled brick walls, gaze at the historical documents, and stood in the room where Ho Chi Minh once lived. The years when China and Vietnam stood together in struggle seemed to come alive before their eyes, allowing the young cadres to connect with the deep historical roots of the friendship between the two countries.

In the early 20th century, Guangzhou attracted numerous Vietnamese patriots to engage in activities here, making the city an important overseas base for Vietnamese revolutionaries. The former site is not only a key memorial site commemorating Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary activities in Guangzhou, but also a vital testament to the profound friendship between China and Vietnam. The site recreates scenes such as Ho Chi Minh's bedroom, the headquarters meeting room of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League, the classroom of the Vietnam Youth Political Training Class, the printing room of Vietnam's first Marxist newspaper "Youth".
The delegation also witnessed the vibrant dynamism of Chinese modernization, including the innovative achievements of high-tech enterprises, drones, and AI. The visit not only allowed the Vietnamese youth to see the sparks that once ignited revolutionary ideals but also enabled them to experience the tremendous energy driving China's progress today.
The interactions between Guangzhou and Ho Chi Minh City vividly reflect the continuation of this cherished bond. From youth exchanges to urban cooperation and technological collaboration, the two cities are deepening their connection in practical and meaningful ways. When young people from Ho Chi Minh City visit Guangzhou’s historic sites, when Guangzhou’s metro designs are adopted in Vietnam, and when the youth of both countries learn and collaborate in the digital age, the friendship continues to grow through real experiences and shared efforts.
