At the press conference, nine leading companies, including Huawei and Tencent, demonstrated their latest AI products and services, showcasing Guangdong’s determination to transform into a hub for AI and robotics innovation.
AI applications drive industry transformation
Guangdong is leading the way in integrating AI into various sectors. The province plans to develop 100 demonstration application scenarios and 500 demonstration cases across key areas such as education, healthcare, and finance, aiming to create standardized applications that can be widely adopted.
For example, Tencent Cloud's large model has already been implemented in over 30 industries, driving growth through smart solutions. Similarly, companies like ViewSonic and KUKA are leveraging AI to enhance educational and industrial applications, demonstrating the technology's potential to revolutionize traditional industries.
Technological breakthroughs in core components
Guangdong is also making significant strides in AI technology development. The province has established a project focusing on high-end chip development, aiming to reduce reliance on imports. Companies like GAC are pioneering innovative solutions, with plans to mass-produce self-developed components by 2026.
RayNeo, a leader in AR technology, highlighted its achievement of an 85% yield rate for its MicroLED optical waveguide AR glasses, surpassing international competitors in key performance metrics. This underscores Guangdong's commitment to technological self-reliance and innovation.
Open ecosystem fuels innovation
Guangdong is fostering an open innovation ecosystem to support AI and robotics development. The province is providing financial support for open-source communities and encouraging collaboration between enterprises and research institutions. This ecosystem aims to lower technical barriers and integrate industry resources, promoting widespread innovation and application.
A notable example is the M-Robots OS, a groundbreaking robot operating system developed through open collaboration. This system represents a new stage in multi-robot coordination and group intelligence, offering a novel Chinese solution to the global robotics community.
