Guangzhou Party secretary leads delegation to Thailand, Vietnam

Guo Yonghang, Party secretary of Guangzhou, led a delegation to Thailand and Vietnam from March 29 to April 3, aiming to deepen cooperation with the two countries.

In Thailand, Guo met with Thai Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Jakkapong Sangmanee, Chiang Mai Governor Nirat Pongsitthaworn, and Bangkok Deputy Mayor Tavida Kamolvej. All of them expressed their commitment to further strengthening practical cooperation in manufacturing, agriculture, commerce, culture, tourism, and education.

The delegation also aimed to facilitate personnel exchanges and investment trade and deepen the friendly city relationships between Guangzhou and Bangkok and between Guangzhou and Chiang Mai province.

Guo also signed a friendly city government relations agreement with Chiang Mai governor and visited Charoen Pokphand Group and GAC Aion, witnessing the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between Guangzhou University and Chiang Mai University.

During the visit to Vietnam, Guo met with Dinh Tien Dung, secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Hanoi Municipal Committee.

Both sides expressed their commitment to deepening and expanding cooperation in smart city development, rail transportation, economic and trade investment, environmental protection, talent development, science, education, culture, and tourism, aiming to inject new impetus into the friendly city relationship and promote high-quality economic and social development in both regions.
