The 10th Guangzhou Annual Investment Conference  (China-Singapore Session) was held in Singapore on March 12.

During the conference, Guangzhou extended an investment invitation to Singaporean enterprises, aiming to collaborate in emerging fields such as smart connected vehicles, new energy automobiles, biopharmaceuticals, and the health industry.

In 2023, Guangzhou emerged as an economic powerhouse, boasting a GDP of 3 trillion yuan ($416.72 billion), securing the fourth spot on the Chinese mainland. Its retail sales of consumer goods and import and export value exceeded 1 trillion yuan for three consecutive years. The city is a magnet for foreign investment, hosting over 50,000 foreign-funded enterprises, with 345 among the Fortune Global 500. Moreover, in 2023, the number of new foreign-funded enterprises skyrocketed to over 6,600, marking a 90 percent yearly increase and setting a new historical record. These figures speak volumes about Guangzhou's investment potential.

As a pivotal node in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) is not just a platform for deep-level cooperation between Singapore and Guangzhou, it's a gateway to endless opportunities. According to the trilateral agreement signed by the Singapore-Guangdong Cooperation Council last year, Singaporean enterprises are offered special measures to settle in the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, enabling them to participate in the development of Guangzhou and the Greater Bay Area. This unique proposition makes investing in Guangzhou a strategic move.

By December 2023, Singapore had accumulated 991 invested enterprises in Guangzhou.
