During the 2023 Global Mayors' Forum, Asmaa Rhlalou, mayor of Rabat, Morocco, visited Guangzhou and experienced the charm of the widely renowned "City of Flowers." 

This was her fifth visit to China, and she expressed admiration for Guangzhou's beautiful floral landscapes.

Rhlalou stated that the Global Mayors' Forum serves as an excellent platform for fostering exchanges and cooperation among cities worldwide, especially in areas related to urban development like social infrastructure and social equality.

Marking the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Friendly City relations between Guangzhou and Rabat, Rhlalou emphasized that the purpose of the relationship is to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two cities in terms of the economy, society, and environment. 

She expressed the hope to deepen collaboration with Guangzhou in areas such as green space development and global climate change. She also said that Rabat is constructing two new hospitals and hopes to strengthen cooperation with Guangzhou in this area in the future.
