As of June this year, the cooperative relationship between Guangzhou and Singapore has advanced to a new level.

At a recent business event, China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City secured contracts for 12 cooperation projects between Guangdong and Singapore, with a projected total investment exceeding 30 billion yuan ($4.7 billion).

These projects span several sectors, including energy and chemical engineering, new materials, finance, technological collaboration, and cultural tourism.

Additionally, Nansha district has signed framework agreements with two renowned Singaporean companies, with a planned total investment of 20 billion yuan. The projects aim to construct an integrated international smart supply chain base in Nansha, encompassing import and export trade, inspection, cross-border e-commerce, cold chain distribution, and digital operations.

In recent years, the exchange and cooperation between Guangdong and Singapore have been steadily advancing, demonstrating a positive momentum. The import and export volume between Guangdong and Singapore reached $23.24 billion in 2022, accounting for 20.1 percent of the trade volume between China and Singapore.

From January to May this year, the bilateral import and export volume has already achieved $10.79 billion, marking a year-on-year growth of 39.4 percent. This substantial growth rate illustrates the robust development of economic and trade cooperation between Guangdong and Singapore.
