The 133rd China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) Promotion Conference was held in Guangzhou on Feb 28.

This year's Canton Fair is themed on high-quality development, and will fully resume on-site exhibitions. The fair is set to open on April 15 and feature both online and onsite activities.

This is the first year that the fair will use four exhibition halls, expanding the exhibition area from 1.18 million square meters to 1.5 million sq m, and setting a new record in scale. More than 30,000 enterprises will participate in the fair, and among them are more than 5,000 high-quality enterprises with titles such as manufacturing champions and national high-tech enterprises. The quality of this year's exhibition has been significantly improved.

Chu Shijia, deputy director and secretary-general of the Canton Fair and director of the China Foreign Trade Center, expressed that this year's Canton Fair will add three new exhibition areas: industrial automation and intelligent manufacturing, new energy and intelligent networked vehicles, and maternity and baby products. Chu also stated that there will be three new special areas: smart life, silver-haired economy, testing reagents, and protective products. 

On the basis of maintaining its 16 major commodity categories, the total number of exhibition areas has reached 54 and the total number of special areas has reached 159. They will fully display the latest level of industrial development and the latest achievements in scientific and technological progress, thus presenting a treasure trove of Chinese products to global purchasers, Chu added.
