The Urban Innovation Experience Exchange Conference, co-hosted by the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation Office, was held in Poland on June 28.

As a side event of the 11th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF11) of UN-Habitat, the conference was held under the framework of "Promoting Urban Transformation and Building a Better Future," aiming to promote the exchange and sharing of innovative experiences between cities.

Nicholas You, a Guangzhou International Urban Innovation Award (Guangzhou Award) senior consultant, and Sara Hoeflich, director of the area of learning in United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), presided over the meeting.

More than 60 representatives of international organizations, enterprises, experts, and scholars concerned with the development of urban innovation had a lively discussion around the theme of "Nature-Based Solutions (NbS)" at the meeting.

Amanda Lloyd, representative of the Penn Institute for Urban Research, an interdisciplinary research center at the University of Pennsylvania, shared the experience in urban innovation.

"This conference has prompted city managers around the world to think about the relationship between cities and nature, and promoted their mutual learning by sharing and discussing their city's nature-based solutions," said You.

Established by the United Nations in 2001, the WUF is the most open and inclusive event of its kind on the international stage.
