Universal PCR testing to be conducted in Guangzhou

GZFAO | Updated:2022-03-11

The epidemiological survey results released on March 9 showed that a newly confirmed COVID-19 patient from another city once visited Guangzhou from March 5 to 7.

As a result, universal PCR testing will be conducted in relevant areas in Guangzhou starting from March 9. Please cooperate with the epidemic measures taken by your street committee, community committee, and employer. When heading to the testing site, make sure to bring your ID card and practice good personal protection. Follow the on-site instructions, refrain from talking and gathering, as well as maintain a social distance of at least one meter from others.

To stop the virus spread and protect your health and safety, all residents and inbound travelers to Guangzhou shall follow the COVID-19 protocols below as per the Notice on Strengthening COVID-19 Measures in Guangzhou (No 28):

1. Follow the COVID-19 updates released by the government and CDC. Check your health code status and phone messages often, as well as cooperate with COVID-19 measures like PCR testing.

2. Make a report. If you come from a medium- or high-risk area, you are required to report to your community (village) committee, employer or hotel you are staying at upon arrival in Guangzhou, and implement health management measures as required.

3. Monitor your health. If you experience fever, dry cough, fatigue, decreased sense of smell and taste, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, conjunctivitis, myalgia, diarrhea, or other COVID-19 symptoms, you must report to your community (village) committee, employer, or hotel immediately and go to a nearby fever clinic. You must truthfully inform your healthcare workers of your travel history. In such cases, public transportation should be avoided.

4. Strengthen personal protection. Please wear masks correctly, wash hands often, maintain good ventilation, and maintain social distancing. Follow the safety protocols, such as code scanning and shows, as well as temperature checks, at the entrance of public transportation and other public venues.
