The China (Guangzhou)-Italy (Padova) Smart Green Industry-University-Research Cooperation Seminar was held both online and offline on Feb 4 in Guangzhou.

The seminar is expected to help companies and scientific institutes from both Guangzhou and Padova better implement the China-EU Investment Agreement via exchanges between friendly cities, as well as boosting industry-university-research cooperation between China and Europe.

Guangzhou EnviroVest Environment Technology Co Ltd and SMACT Competence Center signed a strategic cooperation contract during the seminar. 

Lucia Pasqualini, the consul general of Italy in Guangzhou, said that the cooperation contract is a good beginning which forges links between academia and industry. She expressed the hope that both sides can achieve complementary technical gains by introducing Italian companies to Guangzhou, and that the consulate general of Italy in Guangzhou will facilitate cooperation and communication between Guangzhou and Padova.

Sergio Giordani, mayor of Padova, said during his video speech that the contract will connect Padova and Guangzhou, boosting mutual scientific cooperation and the development of industry and commerce.

Giordani added that he believes that cooperation between two sides will create more value and bring more opportunities for both parties.
