Guangzhou to deepen innovation in service trade

eguangzhou.gov.cn | Updated:2021-01-05

An implementation plan aimed at demonstrating the innovative development of the service trade in Guangzhou was released on Dec 23.

Guangzhou will accelerate the construction of four international centers - for commerce and trade, scientific innovation, culture, and education and medicine - as well as two international hubs for logistics and finance.

The city will push forward the opening up of its service industry, releasing a batch of initiatives such as carrying out a pilot project for the mutual recognition of professional service qualifications between Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao, and allowing Taiwan residents to apply for the same individual industrial and commercial households as those from Hong Kong and Macao.

New business models will be developed in Guangzhou to promote the transformation of traditional industries. For example, overseas tourist groups can enjoy a 15-day visa-free policy when entering the border from Nansha Port by cruise ship; pilot testing of digital renminbi will be carried out in Guangzhou; and Guangzhou will be supported to build a Guangzhou-Hong Kong economic circle for the horse-racing industry.

In addition, the digital economy business environment in Guangzhou will be further optimized and more preferential financial policies will be released.
