The Pakistan Lahore Orange Line in Lahore, Pakistan's second largest city, was officially put into operation on Oct 25, marking the launch of the first transportation infrastructure project in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The Pakistan Lahore Orange Line, which fully applies Chinese standards, techniques, and equipment, was built and operated by a consortium formed by NORINCO International Cooperation Ltd, Guangzhou Metro, and Daewoo Pakistan Express Bus Service Ltd.

With a total length of 25.58 kilometers, the orange line has set up 26 stations, with most of them being elevated stations. The operational hours of the line is 12 hours every day, with the minimum interval during peak hours being five minutes.

The orange line is the first overseas project of Guangzhou Metro. It has sent a total of 104 high-skilled talents in six batches to Lahore to ensure that the orange line operates smoothly.

In addition, it has also made training materials in English and recorded education videos to recruit and train nearly 1,000 local Pakistan workers.

At present, Guangzhou Metro has been taking an active part in teaming with upstream and downstream companies in the industrial chain to expand its market.
