Officials from consulates general of foreign countries in Guangzhou have been taken an active role in attending large-scale events held in the city.

The 2020 China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair, which opened on Sept 23, attracted a total of 39 officials from consulates general of 22 countries, including Mexico, Israel, and Nepal.

The 9th China (Guangzhou) International Finance Expo (GIFE), which was held in Guangzhou from Sept 24 to 26, was attended by 23 officials from consulates general of 15 countries like Ethiopia, Mali, and Pakistan. 

The opening ceremony of the 2020 Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo drew 74 representatives from consulates general of 42 countries, such as Mexico, Iran, and Cambodia.
