The carbon management processes at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport have earned the second accreditation level of reduction by Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA), the airport announced on July 10.

With recognition from Airports Council International (ACI), ACA is widely regarded as one of the most globally influential recognition standards for airports' carbon management processes.

A total of four levels are set up by ACA, namely mapping, reduction, optimization, and neutrality. Since Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport had achieved the level of mapping earlier this year, it has broken a new record for being the fastest to receive certificates at two levels within six months.

At present, a total of 311 airports from 71 countries around the world have won recognition from ACA, receiving an annual passenger number of 3.9 billion, accounting for 44.7 percent of the global total.
