eguangzhou.gov.cn | Updated:2019-12-13

Guangzhou's Tianhe district is expected to set up an additional "matchmaking" area for industries and potential employees during an upcoming career event, in an attempt to lure more talents into the area.

The 2019 Convention of Exchange of Overseas Talents and 21th Guangzhou Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science and Technology - to take place in Guangzhou from Dec 18 to 19 - is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Western Returned Scholars Association and Guangzhou municipal people's government.

This year's convention is expected to gather around 5,000 skilled workers including high-caliber talents from overseas and also from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as innovative and technological talents from key universities, research institutes and major companies.

The exhibition area of Tianhe during the convention will showcase five areas, integrating both online and offline measures, namely economic development environment; industrial development platform; residential facilities; major supporting policies and talent development achievements.

Quick response codes will be available in Tianhe's exhibition area, allowing the potential employees to scan and deliver their resumes online.

A series of activities will also be organized, such as an on-site tour of the Tianhe technological innovation industrial park as well as the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities for youths in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

As a major cluster area for employees in Guangzhou, Tianhe district has gathered more than 70 percent of Guangzhou's total talents in leading industries such as finance and the new generation of information technology.

Tianhe district has been pushing forward the case for establishing a national human resources service industrial park in Guangzhou in 2019, offering a better growing environment for talents from both home and abroad.
