Guangzhou, Saudi Arabia eye further cooperation

Wen Guohui, mayor of Guangzhou, met with Sultan Mofti, deputy governor of the Saudi Arabia General Investment Authority (SAGIA), on Nov 28 in Guangzhou.

SAGIA has been devoting continuous efforts to provide good opportunities and conditions for companies from all over the world to invest in Saudi Arabia.

Guangzhou, which enjoys great fame as a National Central City in China, is also an international trade and economic center, as well as a comprehensive transportation hub. 

Guangzhou has been actively participating in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, said Wen.

Wen said that he hopes SAGIA can further support Guangzhou companies' investment and development in Saudi Arabia, as well as set up a service institution in Guangzhou to promote the cooperation between the two countries in areas including investment and trade.

Wen added that Guangzhou welcomes foreign-invested companies to settle down in Guangzhou and that the city will keep improving its business environment to provide quality services for companies.

Mofti noted that China and Saudi Arabia share a lot of opportunities in communication and cooperation. He added that he hopes to carry out deeper communication and cooperation with Guangzhou in various fields like tourism and trade.
