The second culture and art festival showcasing bamboo culture from Southeast Asia is scheduled to open on Dec 8 at Nansha Bird Park in Guangzhou, showcasing several bamboo masterpieces.

This year's event will include a weekend fair from Southeast Asia for the first time, thanks to the construction bamboo structure left from last year's event. Cities including Chiang Mai, Thailand, Bali, Indonesia, and Penang, Malaysia have reached cooperation intention agreements to participate in the fair.

A variety of activities like the Asia Bamboo Secret Garden and the Chiang Mai fruit festival will also be held to delight visitors.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and ASEAN International Colleges and Universities Construction Competition returns to the festival, and is hosted by the School of Architecture of South China University of Technology and Nansha Bird Park.

Its finals will be held on Dec 8, in which 16 representative teams from colleges and universities of countries alongside the Belt and Road will use bamboo to make building structures onsite with both decorative and practical value.

The annual competition is expected to become a new international calling card of Nansha and will be built as an international platform for innovations with global influence.
