Guangdong Public Diplomacy Week, an event dedicated to promoting Guangdong stories, improving Guangdong's image among overseas countries, as well as boosting cooperation and ties between Guangdong province and the world, began this year's event in Guangzhou on Aug 20.

A total of 130 representatives from 25 countries and 32 foreign organizations, as well as 50 diplomats and consular officials from over 20 foreign consulates in Guangzhou attended the activity.

They took part in an oil painting exhibition that shows China's self-improvement and enterprising spirit, as well as watched China's first large-scale national dance drama Awakening Lion, which features China's intangible cultural heritage of lion dance. They will also visit Guangzhou and Huizhou to explore their economic and social developments.

The event will include a special sharing session under the theme of Guangdong's friendship and cooperation with overseas countries, with experts invited to explain the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In addition, representatives from outstanding enterprises that have gone global from Guangdong will also be invited to share insights with attendees on their experiences on seeking business opportunities abroad and expanding into the overseas market.
