A special concert featuring performances by musicians from the Guangdong Music and Folk Art Troupe and Polish string quartet Con Affetto was staged in Guangzhou on Jan 17.

Artists from the two orchestras joined hands to perform renowned Cantonese music including Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon.

Founded in 1958, the Guangdong Music and Folk Art Troupe is both a professional art troupe specializing in the creation, performance and research of Guangdong music and folk art and a national intangible cultural heritage preservation unit for two major items – Guangdong music and Cantonese operatic songs.

The string quartet Con Affetto was founded in 2005 by students from the Academy of Music in Cracow, Poland. It has a long-standing reputation in Europe and has collaborated with many of the world's top orchestras.
