Traditional craftworks shine during Qixi Festival

A special cultural activity featuring Guangdong specialties Guangcai ceramics, palace lanterns and Chao embroidery was held on Aug 27 in Mall of the World in Guangzhou.

During the activity, many inheritors of traditional arts and crafts were invited to popularize their techniques and call on younger generations to learn more and get involved in their heritages.

Held by the Guangzhou City Investment Culture and Tourism Development Company and the Guangzhou Time-honored Brand Association, the activity was aimed at promoting Guangdong's traditional culture and intangible cultural heritages.

A wide range of handicrafts were put on display, including palace lanterns, Guangcai ceramic wares and moon cakes molds.

In the afternoon, Chen Zeyao, inheritor of Chao embroidery, Luo Minxin, inheritor of Cantonese-style rosewood palace lanterns and Chen Wenmin, inheritor of Guangcai ceramics were all invited to give a speech about their crafts.
