The Volvo Ocean Race 2017-18 is ready to set sail on July 28 for the Guangzhou round of the international competition, at the Nansha International Sailing Regatta.

The three-day sailing event will see teams of more than 60 professional sailors compete in front of thousands of spectators at the grand event.

The 2017 Guangzhou Nansha International Sailing Regatta, consisting of over 10 events and activities, is a global platform to promote sailing and enhance communication among countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. The event has attracted many sailing teams from Russia, India, Malaysia and Singapore.

Apart from the fierce competition from professional teams, youth sailing competitions, exhibitions of ships and yachts, and various water sports will take place over the weekend.
