Guangzhou held an annual investment conference on March 27 and 28 at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center to introduce new strategies and opportunities to attract investment.

The Guangzhou Annual Investment Conference has been an important platform to map out a development plan for the city since 2015, sponsored by the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and the Guangzhou government.

Some 3,000 experts, scholars and business leaders, attended this year's conference, which focused on the city as a network hub and base for technological innovation.

A wide range of topics such as constructing an aviation hub was discussed across 19 sub-conferences.

Several industry seminars were also held in the fields of automobile, exhibition, and cultural creation, and investment promotion events.

The conference included an exhibition of the latest innovative technology, added for the first time to the event, including a demonstration of EHang's 184 AAV (autonomous aerial vehicle).

"Guangzhou is more open, more efficient and more pragmatic," said Liu Bocheng, chairman of the board of Tianjin-based Haixie Investment Group. It only took about one week to settle their latest IoT (Internet of Things) project after they expressed the cooperation willingness.

As of the end of 2016, Guangzhou is home to 797 projects launched by 288 of the world's top 500 companies and 370 company headquarters.
