Established in 1956, the Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (GUCM) is one of the four oldest Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) institutes of higher education in China.

The university consists of the Sanyuanli campus and the University Town campus covering 92 hectares in total. Consisting of 14 colleges and offering 16 undergraduate specialties, the university has rich teaching resources and strong research abilities enjoying a great reputation in the field of TCM at home and abroad.

The most prominent research fields at the university are Chinese Medicine Science, Chinese Materia Medica Science, Acupuncture and Tuina Massage and Pharmaceutical Engineering.

Through years of striving, GUCM has steadily accumulated a rich traditional Chinese culture. Comprehensive study in Chinese Medicine as well as in-depth and extensive research on Western culture and Modern Medicine are offered at the university, as the development of Chinese Medicine not only demands mutual learning between Oriental and Western cultures and Chinese and Western Medicine, but also the combination of science and humanities in ancient and modern cultures.

With rapidly developing science and technology, GUCM inherits the outstanding historical heritages of TCM while simultaneously keeping up with the frontier science.

The university has been offering foreign education through various channels and forms and has obtained favorable social and economic benefits. At present, GUCM has established a cooperative relationship with more than 50 countries and regions, and signed collaboration agreements with several foreign universities.
