New cold front to impact Guangdong this week, temperatures to fluctuate

GD Today | Updated:2025-03-11

Following the recent cold wave, temperatures across the country have begun to rise. However, two new cold fronts are set to impact China this week, and temperatures will rise before dropping again, though this will be a weaker version of the previous cold front.

Over the next three days, Guangdong will experience warmer temperatures and higher humidity. Southerly winds will bring warmth, but fog and humidity will persist, especially in the mornings and evenings. Continuous humid weather may also come back, so residents are advised to keep doors and windows closed. A new cold front will push south on the night of March 14, bringing rain and cooler temperatures by the weekend.

On March 11, it will be mostly cloudy to overcast with light fog in the morning and evening across the province, while scattered rain will occur in the west. Minimum temperatures will range from 18 °C to 20 °C in western Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta, and from 15 °C to 17 °C elsewhere.

On March 12, light fog will persist across the province. Thunderstorms are expected in northern Guangdong, with heavy rain in some areas. Most other areas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain. Minimum temperatures will range from 20 °C to 23 °C in the west and the Pearl River Delta, and from 17 °C to 19 °C elsewhere.

In particular, from March 12 onwards, Guangzhou's weather conditions will change rapidly, with rain, fog, thunderstorms, and strong winds all making their presence felt. Residents are advised to stay updated on the latest weather reports.
