An international symposium on urban multilateral exchanges took place in Guangzhou on March 29, with the theme of "Contributing to China's Urban Power and Deepening Global Urban Cooperation." Representatives from various institutions, international organizations, and foreign affairs departments from 24 cities attended the event.

Yan Dong, the vice president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), highlighted the significant role of the World Association of Major Metropolises in fostering urban cooperation. Guangzhou, as an active member, has contributed to improving the association's governance system and international influence.

Jordi Vaquer, Secretary-General of the World Association of Major Metropolises, emphasized the world's interest in China's urban development and expressed a desire to learn from Chinese cities' experiences in urban management.

The symposium aimed to promote China's participation in global urban exchange dialogues and governance innovation, as well as set an example for other Chinese cities to improve international multilateral exchanges.
